Pee Pee in the Potty

The girls are doing AWESOME at this peeing in the potty business.  Only down fall is that there are times when they have to go at the most inconvenient times.

I was very surprised that they both were in the middle of singing and dancing to their Kids Songs and took time to go potty.  It’s great!

The only thing we need to work on right now is the wiping.  They tend to not wipe unless we enforce it or do it for them.

Emily loves to wait until she is in bed for a good 5 min before she feels the need.  It doesn’t matter if she just went right before laying down.  Of course Erika has to get out of bed and “help” her go potty.

Well that’s about all.

Angel Kisses

For those that know me you know that I have freckles.  As I have gotten older they come out when I’ve been in the sun.  When I was younger they were around all the time.  My neighbor used to tell me I got them from his whisker rubs.  I’ve also heard of them as angel kisses.

I’ve been wondering if Erika or Emily will get freckles since they were born.  Well over the weekend I notice a dot on the end of Erika’s nose and until this morning didn’t think to look closer.  Guess what Erika is getting freckles.  It is soooooo cute.

Emily has more of Ryan’s complexion and hair, where Erika is on my side. I don’t think we will see Angel Kisses on her but I will keep you posted.

I even found this little bit of info on the web about twins and freckles.

How important is heredity with freckles?

The answer, it now appears, is: “Very important.” In studies of twins, including pairs of identical twins and pairs of fraternal (nonidentical) twins, it has been found that among identical twin pairs, there was a striking similarity in the total number of freckles found on each person. Such similarities were considerably less common in fraternal twins. This clearly confirms that the occurrence of freckles is influenced by genetic factors. In fact, the variations in freckle counts appear to be due largely to heredity.

Um No, Uh No and Ah No

Erika has moved from just telling me no, to elaborating a little.  She now says UH NO, UM NO, and AH NO.  It is quite cute the way she does it, yet annoying.  Most times she is great at helping out but there are days she gets a little stubborn.  Usually if I giggle at her she comes around and does what I ask.

I will take full responsibility for this reply from her.  I know I say it to them very regularly.

On another note - last night Erika ended up with a ‘broken’ nuke.  She was devastated and wouldn’t let it go and fall asleep until daddy got her a new one.  I hope this is not an indication of what is to come when we try the broken nuke trick to rid them of those things.  Though I think if they see all the nukes are broken it might work.

Our little voice recorders

So the girls have really started to repeat things they hear.  It’s funny yet no so funny.  Here are a few examples.

1) Occasionally I let the girls walk the dog to daycare in the AM. The entire way there they are yelling at the dog to stop, heal or go.  Poor dog has 2 leashes going in different directions, 2 little girls yelling at him and me yanking on his leash to keep him from pulling them over.  Its such a peaceful walk.

2) Yesterday Emily ran off to the bathroom and the daycare lady followed after her. Emily sometimes likes to play in the bath room instead of do her business.  Well she was sitting on the potty and Renee asked if she needed anything.  Emily looked at her and with a straight face said “I’m taking a dump” Yep that was my little sweet heart of a girl.  Renee said she had to turn and laugh, her eyes were watering from laughing so much.  Emily did her thing and when she came out she told another girl at daycare she just took a really big dump.  Again, my sweet little girl.  This time all the kids heard her and because they laughed Emily said it a good 20 times.  Renee asked her where she heard that from “my daddy” said Emily.

3) I hear it over and over that Erika is naughty or Emily is naughty.  Problem with this is that neither of the girls likes it when their sister tells them they are naughty so I hear crying and whining after that.

That’s just the 3 I can think of right now.  I know there are many many more and I will continue to jot them down.

I need my nukie

I don’t know how many times we heard this over and over this weekend in a high pitched whinny voice or in between sobs.  Saturday we had the baby shower.  Well Erika had fallen asleep shortly before it started and Emily didn’t nap all day.  So Ryan took Emily over to my brothers for a few hours while Erika stayed and took her nap then hung with the ladies.  Towards the end of the party Erika decided she would give the nukes to the baby.  It went well and she was OK with it.  My worry was that Emily was not there to partake in the giving them away.

So when Emily got home I had Erika tell her how she gave the nukes away because the baby was crying.  They seemed good with it.  UNTIL they were getting ready for bed.  Then it was the most god awful thing Erika had done.  At one point they were laying in their beds crying and Erika says ‘ I gave away the nukes Emily ‘ it sounded like she was devastated and sorry for doing it.  Quite funny I might add.

Well Emily took about 20 min of crying, comforting and she was out. Keep in mind she had not napped all day.  Erika on the other hand cried and cried, and then she would be almost asleep and cry more. She finally ended dup in our bed about 9 and was watching Anne until 9:30 when Ryan went and laid with her.  Well until 11 it was great and we thought we were moving in the right direction.

At 11 I heard a thump and then crying.  Emily fell out of her bed and woke up freaking out.  She woke Erika up and then it was all off and they received their nukes.

Then on Sunday for nap time we laid them down with nukes, they put up a fight.  But they didn’t nap and so they were up and running around.  An hour later they decided to lie in my bed and watch a movie; well they both fell asleep with no nukes.  So I figured we would try no nukes a nap.  I discussed this with my daycare lady when I dropped off.

She called me at noon.  Emily had asked for her nuke and cried when Renee told her she didn’t’ have any.  Well sneaky little Emily went right to the drawer where they are kept and took hers.  Erika saw this and cried.  So they both had them at nap time.

We have deiced on a new approach.  I am going to cut a hole into them so they don’t work right.  I’ve heard this other method also works.  I will keep you posted.
